This workshop is designed for those with no previous experience.

Leathercrafting just like any other skill, requires not only practise but also the correct techniques upon which to properly build those skills.

Become acquainted with the leather crafter's all-essential swivel knife and the designed use of embossing/carving tools. Learn about moisture content, and how to create beautiful inverted and traditional designs for your projects.

The emphasis will be on the Inverted  style carving, students will be shown how to correctly use the appropriate tools, you will understand the correct method of tool application to gain confidence after this workshop to tool other designs.

Also covered will be the  basic steps on the traditional style carving techniques.

This workshop is limited to ten students to ensure everyone receives personal attention.

You will be working on sample pieces of leather; no project is included in this workshop.

All tools, including swivel knife will be supplied by the tutor for you to use at no additional cost.

LOCATION:  The Leather Shed, 130 Kingfisher Road, Mount Cotton

An exceptional teacher, President and founding member of the Leather Crafters Association of Queensland, and Director of Exquisite Leather, this Brisbane based Leather Artisan has travelled the world sharing her skills.

You might like to know, Cherryl was the first ever to be presented with the prestigious Al Stohlman Award outside of the U.S.!

Cherryl has also coordinated the largest event for Leather Crafters (of all skill levels) in Australia and New Zealand, Dimensions in Leather, since 1994.
